Native New Yorker Christopher Brothers was exposed to Thoroughbreds at an early age through his father’s longtime association with multiple Eclipse Award winner Adena Springs. Growing up within close proximity to Aqueduct and Belmont, Chris was fortunate to spend the occasional August at historic Saratoga, where he developed both an appreciation for Thoroughbreds and a keen eye for a horse.
While still in his teens, Chris relocated to Lexington, Kentucky to complete his schooling, ultimately earning a degree in business. He also began working at Hidden Brook Farm, where he was soon named Assistant Manager and then Director of Bloodstock, Sales and Marketing. Working closely with former Adena Springs General Manager Dan Hall, Managing Partner Sergio de Sousa, and his father, Jack Brothers, Chris was a key part of the team which found Derby-winning Champion Big Brown and G1 SW Tell a Kelly.
Over the past six years, Chris has been instrumental in the selection and purchase of numerous top sales and race prospects, including: 2012 Belmont Stakes (G1) winner Union Rags; 2011 Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) winner Court Vision; 2013 SW/Breeders’ Cup runner-up Merit Man; 2012’s top-priced juvenile and TDN Rising Star Darwin (1.3 million 2YO); G3 SW Victoria’s Wildcat; 2012 Belmont SW Trickmeister; 2012 Belmont SW Pianist.
Now president of Xavier International Bloodstock, Chris works closely with clients on all aspects of the business, where his eye for a horse and attention to detail have garnered notice worldwide.
